Unique ranchhouse situated in the foothills of the Maya Mountains, Belize, Central America. Built by two UK expats using local craftsmen this was their family home until May 1, 2015, but it's location, style of build and the fact that it is 5,584 sq feet made it an incredible purchase and here we are. Nestled in its own valley, entirely fenced with chain link, gated and with it's own private 600 metre driveway brings you to the house with a garage large enough for 4 cars. We've installed a solar panel system to supply our home with all of its power requirements and as a backup the garage houses the US imported diesel generator and inverter system. This off-grid system is capable of meeting the demands of our home. Large septic system. Water is provided year round by two natural springs, plus run off collected from various roofs, you need never be short of your own water supply. We also gravity feed water from a huge stainless steel tank at the top of the property down to the house therefore saving on pumping running costs. We have solar heated hot water, but also hot water on demand from a gas heater, when it is required.
It is so difficult to list everything this property offers as we continually improve both the house and the surrounding acreage in the valley, leaving the pristine jungle on the sides of the valley. With direct access from the Hydro Road which runs out of Benque Viejo, 6 miles away, this house offers the tranquility and peacefulness of remote living with ease of living in town and with good access to Benque, San Ignacio and beyond. Most property in Belize has direct access across it to neighbouring land, but our property is on the edge of one of the National Parks and no access is required across it . This makes life easier as it means our chickens, dogs, sheep and horses can roam free without hindrance and improves our security.

View from behind the house, in its own valley, all you can see you own except the hill opposite. That hill is very steep and unlikely ever to be developed or chopped.
